Kenwood

Why does it say 600W+600W instead of 1200W

also why does a box with a port have to be bigger that a sealed box

It does say 1200W Total MAX power.

But it calls it 600 + 600 because Im guessing you cant couple the outputs for a single sub input as you can with some amps..

its a dual voice coil sub, meaning it has two separate coils and therefore will have 4 terminals on the back (2 for each) just a way of helping the sub to be more powerful but does require a lot of amp power

ie you could use a monoblock 1200w amp to run it and run the coils in series

or run two 600w amps with 1 amp on each coil!

sub and amp (not thinking about the make)

swings and roundabouts to be honest as a good digital monoblock can be quite expenisve while running two mite just add upto the cost of one!

give me some ideas of which sub ya want and ya budget and ill have a look for ya

Allow that's 1200 watts peak not RMS.

You should never compare products using peak ratings, Peak ratings are rubbish.

Stick with RMS and you should be right.

I put 1 of those subwoofers on a Rockford fosgate 501BD and it was truly Awesome, Big thump and bump!

Mmmmm 501BD

They Kenwood amps are ok i have one but u really cant beat Alpine for the way u control the bass and they do look damn good. I want an Alpine amp to run my Alpine sub or maybe get another one. But to be honest the boot space that i have at the moment takes the ***** really to be honest so im gonna rip it all out and set some money aside and do a proper Japaneese project car.
