Cheap Yaris Alloy Wheels

If anyone's looking for a cheap set of 15" brand new, genuine Toyota alloy wheels, I've just bought a set of these

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=320442998561

Looks like the guy has a few sets.

They are the same spec as the Mk2 Yaris and I'm sure will also fit the Mk1.

(45mm offset, the same as the steel wheels on the mk2 Yaris...)

They'd be great for anyone to replace their T2 or T3 steel wheels.

I'm going to stick as set of winter tyres on mine and put my 16" Toyota Motorsport wheels away for the winter....

Mine are due to arrive Thursday, so I can provide further info then.

How wide are they? I thought Corollas had wider tyres than Yarisses (Yaris's? Yari??)

On a slight tangent, is this the sort of thing you'd have to tell your insurance company about, i.e. if you changed from a set of 14" Toyota alloys to 15"?

they're 6" wide - which is half an inch wider than the standard steel wheels, but that's still fine for the standard 185/60-15 tyres on the mk2.

There's a tyre calculator here that shows the max and min rim widths for any size of tyre:

http://www.alloywheels.com/tyrecalc.asp

given that the t3 (without alloys) and tr (with alloys) are the same insurance group, then there's no reason for it to cost more to insure

Also, my policy says you must tell of any "modifications to improve performance" rather than simply saying that they need to know of all modifications, so the alloys wouldn't come into that category.

But - the standard caveat counts and I accept no insurance liability - if you have any doubts, check your own policy wording or check with them....

Wheels arrived today by Fedex. I've got four lovely shiny new wheels sat on my dining room floor, including centre caps and chrome wheel nuts.

Look bob on to me. No need to take any pictures as they're exactly as posted in the eBay advert above.....

Ahhhh. They might end up as a Christmas table decoration yet....

Need to find some winter tyres before they go on the car....

Michelin UK are out of stock so my plan to buy from Costco during their 20% off offer is looking doubtful....

Will look far better over the winter months than driving around on than the steel wheels that I'd originally got for the purpose.

And my wife thinks they look really nice....

Given that we went out to buy a TR but had to buy the SR Nav model instead because she fell in love with its 16" Pitlane Motorsport alloys, that's praise indeed.
