Clutch Squeak Noise On De-press

Hi. I've owned from new a 55 plate Colour Collection Yaris, 1.3i that started to make a squeaky sound when pressing the clutch down 6 months ago. The nose can be heard from inside and outdide the car and is only heard when the press the pdeal, not when you release.

At the car's recent 4 years service I asked them to look at it, as it wasn't the pedal making the noise. Toyota have come back and said that its where the clutch enters the gearbox, the flapper plate, that is making the noise. As they would have to remove the gearbox to look at it they recomment that a new clutch is fitted.

The car is 4 years old and with only 30K on the clock - do I really need a new clutch?!!!

Does anyone know what this noise is and how I can get rid of it?

Thanks.

Got a similar skweek on my driving school car and was going to ask service guy to lube it but it helps me notice if a pupil depresses the pedal at the wrong time so left it alone! Try greasing the pivot points on the linkage. Sad to see no-one else replied here! BTW, my clutch is nearing a change so bare that in mind, although the car has done 80-odd thou and used by clumsy learners!

Hi,

The exact same problem occurs on the Corolla. There is a thread currently running here:

http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...howtopic=103022

The thread mentions some solutions to this problem

I am taking my Corolla into a Toyota Main Dealer tomorrow morning with the same problem so I'll report back after it!

Update: Check the thread above!
