Hey, I've just placed order for a aygo blue and now expecting it sometime during the first week of Dec!

I'm rather excited as it'll be the first ever new car for me. I've been looked around for extras for it.

I'll buy a gap insurance for 3 years for it, autoglym to do the care work as recommanded by forum members.

What else would you think is necessary?

I'm looking for something which can cover scratches and clips on the body. I'm not sure if the warranty would do the job without any extra charge (most likely not....I think). Is there anything similar to a house content insurance, in case the car is broken in? I'm having a comprehensive insurance but normally the loss of a broke-in would just be around the excess.....

Also any good kits for maintainance? eg covering essential services for the 3 years? I saw in another post someone recommanded a plan but that's for 5 years. I only need it for 3 years and my car is on a PCP.

Other essential add-ons?

I was having a 12 years old subaru but never bothered too much to look after it as it's old.... Now the poor old buddy is covered with dents and cuts, etc....I shall be extra careful with my new Aygo :(

Unless you feel you need the reassurance of GAP cover, I wouldn't advise you go for that.

If i is aesthetic add-ons you are after then I would thoroughly recommend the Aygo StylePack and stuff like mud flaps, sports aerial, flat wiper blade and larger rear wiper blade. After that its all down to how much you want you rip it apart. I think member Jan de Wow (sp?) has his own website that offers up a whole bunch of ideas as to what to do :)

...and I firmly believe the value of the Service Pack - but opt for a Toyota UK Product and NOT one that is limited to a specific Dealer.

Thanks for your advice!

Well I think for gap insurance just under 100 quid for 3 years reassurance is good value - it might never happens but if it does, I won't need to shed my tear on it... :)

I'll ask how much the stylepack cose. I'm thinking if I would get them cheaper somewhere else instead of from the dealer.

I've looked through toyota website and am going to get a quote for the service pack. Anyone has ever got the body&smart repair? Just wondering if it worth trying

I just re-read your post and realised you are buying this on PCP - I wouldn't recommend you get too far down the road of MOD'ing your car as it technically belongs to the Lease Company (and I doubt they would take too kindly to you mucking around with the car) plus it will cost you more to put it back to standard at the end of your PCP period.

You can buy all sorts of insurance for all sorts of 'What If' situations - I wouldn't worry too much. Just enjoy the car and see how you go. You may find that you're buying so much add-on stuff that you wont either benefit from or actually need. Have they tried to sell you Volcano Insurance yet? ;)

Enjoy the car mate...

Aha! You are right. That's why I wanted to buy the necessary items seperately so that I don't get the useless stuff in the bundle. Well they've already tried to sell the gap insurance for me for 100 per year.....

I'll keep it very basic and under reasonable care ^_^ So that after 3 years I'll get a good price for a new one ;)

Spray the engine and wiring with GUNK from Halfords.

Try:

Very informative site IMHO and although based on the 107 AND pre-facelift - concepts are the same though.
