Checked the fuse?

Haven't till now? Any idea where will it be located for my model? Beneath the glove box or below the steering !!!

Thanks,

To the right of the steering wheel (underneath) is where mines at - you might need the manual to check the fuse. I know there are also fuses in the engine bay as well but imagine the one for the stereo is internal/

I just now checked the fuse RAD NO. 2 and it looks fine. There is another fuse box which has another fuse RAD NO. 1 but the manual says that this fuse controls other operations also such as power rear view mirror, meters etc. and that is why I haven't checked it till now as everything else looks fine.

Is there some connection in the engine bay from the Battery to the radio that I can check. I still don't understand what could have happened. No life without music :-(

Hi, does your ciggy lighter work ????

Any illumination on the set ???

RAD in not for radio etc.

radio removal required to check 2 simple tests: Battery supply and earth.

did the unit stop when you may have plugged into the ciggy lighter ? sat navs and phone chargers etc.....

I have diagnosed sets before now that have simply failed with out notice.

PM me the details/location and will see if i can help you out

Yes the lighter is working. There is nothing on the set, no display at all.

The manual says that the 15A fuse named RAD NO. 2 controls sat nav and audio, thats why I had a look. However the sat nav is also fine. No did nothing at all. Just switched it off in the evening and the next day it didn't turn ON. I will have a final look beneath the bonnet for any other fuses !!

Tried the second fuseboard also yesterday which is again inside the car, but to no avail. I am sure there is no point having a look at the fuseboard inside the bonnet !! Should I take it to a Toyota dealer? Not sure how much money it will cost me !!

Is there a fuse at the back of the stereo also in Toyota Avensis T3S?? I have checked both the fuseboxes inside the car and all looks fine.

Gave the car to a garage. They also checked for the usual things but couldn't find anything wrong with the stereo connections at the back and the fuses. He has told me that he will call over an auto electrician next week and he will have a look. Meanwhile a strange thing happened today. All of a sudden as I turned on my car the stereo started working, worked for around 5 minutes and went dead again. Any ideas? I think it is a case of a loose wire. So it seems it is worth spending some money to show it to the auto electrician?? Or can I myself have another look elsewhere?? Any suggestions...

This sounds very much like a dry joint on the circuit board causing an intermitant conection,

But hey what do i know, just a thought.
