Wind Noise

T180 BT20

I find the T180 to be a very quiet car (for a diesel) but one thing I would like to air is the wind noise from front doors when doing 40 mph plus. I know the mirrors were modified on some models to reduce this noise but have any of the owners on here fitted wind deflectors to the top of the doorframes and are they any use??

Cheers

Hi Ron + welcome, I have wind deflectors on mine (see photo) they are easy to fit + obviously keep wind noise down when windows are slightly open, or its raining + you need ventilation, but most wind noise on the rav is attributed to the mirrors this is a simple fix involving 2 blobs of silicone I think Anchorman does a tutorial on the tech hints + tips on the top of the page, alternately Mr T has a free fix which you could mention next time you visit your dealer... Stew

Hi and welcome. I dont have any wind noise on my T180 since I sorted the wing mirrors, see anchormans quick fix. I would look at them first , if they are sorted you may want to look at the door seals but highly unlikely both door seals would go at once.

Checked the mirrors and mine have been modified, the covers arent loose and I dont think that is the source of the noise. When I take it to Mr T for a service I will consult.....

Thanks guys
