Hello friends,

My original Toyota side door moulding has been damaged little . I am curious if the moulding removal process will somehow damage the door paint. Can i do it myself or it is wise to do it in Toyota dealership? Is it possible to use some kind of dissolvent (for example medicine petroleum, medicine alcohol or similar).

Thank you in advance

You can use 3M adhesive removal (they are fixed on 3M double sided tape). You can heat them slightly (not to overheat as you may damage the paint) to loosen up the grip and then peel the mouldings off. Then just remove the glue left on the paint.

My only worry is that I don't damage the car paint.

Warm the mouldings up just a bit and you'll be fine. I suppose they should be coming off pretty easily. Don't use any sharp item like screwdriver to peel the mouldings off. Good luck!

Best regards, Alex

Do you know exact name (commercial label) of that 3M adhesive removal? I contacted them today, buy they asked me for a precise name of that adhesive removal...
