Hi all,

I dont know if this has been done before, but Im just wondering how many you lovely people actually use the lift in your T Sport.

Just I take notions where I can't help myself and have to hit the lift (think child at xmas face) on most journeys, then I have periods where I just dont use at all (usually around town)

Im just wondering if continious usage can become fatal mechanically, I know Toyotas are usually bomb proof, but Im wondering if anyone has had any problems due to constant lift usage? I know that older models have the lift bolts snap/sheer but is there any other real problems? Or am I being a paranoid android.

Love and Respect peeps

Craigie

I answered every so often, as i wouldnt say i use it every time i go out in the car, but if its upto temp and i get the urge its always good fun.

I think as with any car that constant high rpm will cause more wear to the engine, but i had heard that as with the Honda vtec's Toyota tested the cars to much higher rpm for extended periods of time, so im never scared to thrash it from a reliability point of view (once warm).

My only concern comes from the fuel needle dropping everytime i go into lift. My last car was a tuned derv which used to get 47mpg with spirited driving so this is taking some getting used to. Its slower most of the time than my old car, and then when i do go quick the fuel gauge drops. Luckily i dont do many miles so i just have to tell myself its okay to plant the loud pedal :D

Cheers, James

Every day! :D

Too little use of Lift can block the OCV filter which prevents Lift from working ;)

les you should be able to bolt on a 2zz-ge head onto your block, will need ecu etc sorting as well though

yea i drive down to hang out at my local honda dealer every weekend.

i think its almost impossible to use lift constantly legally in the UK - it just doesnt work out like that... i drive about 25 miles a day and use lift probably 3-4 times but (usually in 2nd and then 3rd gear)...but most of the time i dont hit it..

but looking at US forums where people have lowered lift to like 5-6k they use it far more often and dont seem to have suffered dramatic failure yet...

Se7en put a 2zz-ge in his mates MRS giddlepin ... it's a full engine transplant with the 2zz ecu & a custom engine mount but they bolt right in, I'd love to drive one :)

I know it is doable because there are a few places offering to convert, if my engine decides to expire I would probably go down that road

when i can really i mean how often am i in 1st gear in a 30mph zone unless im at some lights? and even then if i have a car in front of me, whats the point in hitting lift - slowly - so as to not go into the back of him?

anything else is too illegal i mean ill literally be doing 45mph in 1st and i am reluctant to hit lift in 2nd on the streets...

true i drive motorway to work each day but by the time the car is warmed up, i dont find myself often in less than 4th gear and im not going to drop into 2nd to try and prove something. and 3-4th gear put me over the legal 70-80mph anyway:/

i still like to get it in once or twice each eay (12 miles of driving) but im not constantly in it...nor do i use it as much as id like...

OMG I love those dials!!! Where do I get??? Im in New Zealand, so a point in the direction for an online retailer would be fantastic!!

Since replacing my exhaust system recently, I Luuurve the sound it makes when it hits lift, so its been hitting it quite a lot lately! haha. Poor petrol thou, watching the fuel gauge bars drop off its a tad depressing, but oh well.. Love my ceeeelica :-)

I love the sound of the engine just before the lift - and then it takes off...! I use it regularly - but especially when some ar*e thinks a female shouldn't be over taking him - and that puts a smile on my face... ;o)
