I am looking at connecting a Ipod to the wifes 55 reg Yaris. It is the previous model Yaris and it has the built in radio and seperate CD player. I have spoken to ny local Car Audio Specialist who doesnt seem to know how to doi and would like to have a 'poke around the car' to find out! I really would like to be armed with a little bit of info before I let them do this. So,

1. Does anyone have a pics of the back of the Radio and Cd player that they could post on here or details of the connections? (specifically, does this model have a aux/CD changer connection)

2. Does anyone actually have experience of fitting a decent Ipod connector this this model of car with the CD player? How easy is it? What funtionality would I get from steering wheel controls.

Your wisdom would be appreciated! :help:

Cheers Aygoal,

The problem is the Connects2, Xcarlink and Toyota websites do not specifically state if there is a CD changer connection on the radio (although I would guess there is) and as my Yaris has the single CD player instead of the tape player I am not sure if that would already be plugged into the CD connection. I would like to have better info before I (or anyone else) starts pulling the dash apart. I will have to nip to our local dealer and see what they can tell me.

I may have to go down the FM modulation route, but I was hoping not to! (to get better functionality from the steering wheel controls)

After my single CD player stopped accepting discs I decided the cheapist work around was to get a short range FM transmitted & connect it to a MD or MP3 player.
