Reverse Switch

Lo peeps. My reverse light is not working. Checked the lamp and theres nothing wrong with it. I'm guessing the reverse switch might have come loose.

Does anybody have any tips on how to get to this on my '54 plate D4D estate?

Starting work and finishing when its dark so will have to wait till the weekend to have a go. :(

If I remember correctly (my memory ain't what is used to be though LOL!!) the reversing light switch is on top of the gearbox fairly well hidden under cables, etc. But before delving in there it may be prudent to test if voltage is reaching the appropriate connection plug pin at the rear light cluster. A simple test lamp or cheapo multi-meter (around £5 to £10 from the likes of Maplins_ should do the job.:)

The fault can be the fuse, IG1 relay,the switch on top of the gearbox or the wiring. As previous reply, test for current at connector and work back from there to the relay, fuse and switch.
