Beeping When Driver Door Open

Sometimes I want to sit and listen to the radio with my door open but when the key is in the radio position this !Removed! beeping starts - How do I disable it?

T3-S 1.8 auto 2004

As things are, I'm thinking of removing the door switch plunger on the body, because when I press it in the beeping stops. I'll lose the interior lights automatically coming on with the door opening but don't need them.

Put some tape over the door switch to hold it in when your door is open

I disconnected the little connector under the ingnition key. Then it can't sense the key in the ignition, and the problem is gone.

Then it can also lock your car doors while the key is in, and you are outside.

Yes, maybe, but never had that problem once. Had the cars for three years.

I like the simplicity of that idea, but I'd rather not chance getting locked out.

There is a way to disable seat belt alarm... but there is a comment in the link below about the key as well (not easy...)
