I have a very similar problem - except that it only happens in freezing weather. Last year I drove out to a ski resort in France and the car alarm kept going off in the middle of the night - I only happened to find out when some local happened to see me opening the car door one day and complained about his disturbed sleep.

The way I get round the problem is to lock the doors with the switch on the driver's door, close the door and then lock it with the key - effectively disabling the alarm.

I have spoken to many dealers and nobody has ever been able to explain how to resolve the problem other than by methodically swapping out parts - very expensively.

Try double clicking lock button on the remote, this disables interior sensing, (used when leaving a dog in the car),

this will usually stops the false alarms usually caused by changing temperatures inside the vehicle.

hope this helps, worked for me.

Hey everyone, just new to the forums as i have a few problems with my picnic. I experienced this alarm problem on and off for quite a number of months, with the alarm randomly going off during the day and at night. Initially i got round this problem by using the key to lock the door on the drivers side, while opening the car using the fob. For a while this worked until i accidentally locked the car on the passenger door and the car went back to its usual ways. I decided the problem might have to do with the locks on the passenger and tailgate doors ceasing up, since they were never used. I sprayed these well with some wd40 lubricant and it seems to have worked with locking the drivers door and opening the car using the fob. Its worth a try, making sure all the locks are working and well lubricated - worked for me.

Good luck!

I've been told to maybe replace the siren Battery, as these tend to leak and corrode, causing false alarm when the alarm is set...

Will let you know how I get on =)
