Upgrade Yaris T3 2004 Audio

Hi Everyone,

I would like to upgrade the audio in my new 2004 Yaris T3.

Ive been reading a couple of posts and some people have said that there is a way to add rear Speakers either in the pacel shelf or somewhere else in the rear of the car. At the moment, it appears that I have 2 Speakers in the dash and 2 in the front doors, its not the best set up to be honest and Id like to change it.

If I can, Id like to put some Speakers in the back and change the radio too.

Ive read a post on here about adding an aftermarket radio in the Yaris but Im not sure on a couple of things:

  1. Would fitting a replacement stop the information sreen working for MPG etc?
  2. How would I run cables to the back of the car for additional speakers?
  3. What parts do I need?
  4. Is this something I can do easily enough?

I have previously changed radios in my cars. I had a Saxo before and I just slid out the radio, put the new bracket in place and fitted a cheap but good MP3 and CD player from ALDI. That radio came with adapters for plugging the 2 blocks of cables for speakers and power and converting it to one single, longer block which goes in the newer radios.

If I could get some help, this would be amazing,

Thanks in advance,

Ross
