hi everyone and thanks in advanced for helping

recently i replaced the cast iron manifold for a stainless steel manifold. also i removed the aircon (weights quite alot) fuel and oil filer ect and jus cleaned up the engine generally, i noticed when i put everything back together i got into the car and as soon as i turned the key my fan stay on constantly when the ignition is on, thermostat is on red, considering the car hasnt been started for about 3 months i very much doubt its overheating lol. i assume i have done something wrong or i have missed a connection somewhere as everything was fine before i stripped the front end down.

i was also thinking maybe i havent filled up the radiator correctly and there is an air lock by the thermostat? and as if it is doing this, this could be the cars way of telling me. grr

everything else is fine its jus bugging me as i am stuck, i dont really want to leave it how it is as i dont wanna fork out loads for head gasket failure.

also i had another problem the car is always over revving its revs about 2000 rpm i knw this is not good for the engine.

all the info i could get would be appreciated as im sure some of you would have experienced problems like it

thanks everyone

Soends like there is a short in the engine coolant temp sensor circuit - check its electrical connections or cables ain't touching earth or damaged. It is also possible the sensor itself has gone belly-up. The sensors themselves can be teated using a multi-meter.:)
