Rav 4.2 Wiper Arms + Blades

The time has come to replace the Wiper Blades on SWMBO's Rav 4.2, does anyone know if the aero wiper arms on the 4.3 are the same length as the arms on the 4.2? If not I feel a jaunt to our local dealer and see if they have some I can take a look at/measure/order.

Having changed from the older style wiper arm/blade on my octavia to the aero style from the golf I noticed a great improvement in visabilty in the rain so wanted todo the same with the Rav.

Also compare £££ on ....wipex.co.uk. I got aero type for my previous Avensis and were very good.

I can tell you the length of the 4.3 blades are 24 and 17 inch.

Ok,

Having not got round to visiting a Main Dealer but getting some help from some Car Dismantlers I decided it could be very costly to try and source wiper arms & blades not knowing if they would fit so started looking for replacement blades.

I found that Bosch make some Aero Twin blades in a hook fitting but have the aero blade so the hunt was on for the correct length blades. The 4.2 comes with a 21" & 19" blade, after some quick measurements it looked like a 24" & 19" blade would fit so ordered Bosch Aero Twin Part Number AR607S for the Vauxhall Signum 05/03 onwards & Vectra 09/01 onwards.

They arrived by mr postman today (to lazy togo to Halfords and working nights)

Onto the Fitting (and fingers crossed the fitted ok)

Standard looking Wipers

Step 1, After you have removed the old Wiper Blades Open the cover on the clip of the new Wiper Blades

Slide over the wiper arm in the normal way of fitting Wiper Blades

Step 2, Pull the wiper blade firmly into the hook until it clicks

Step 3, Close the clip

Stand Back and Admire the New Look They actually don't look that bulky around the hook, for some reason the look worse in a picture.

Gave a quick squirt of washer fluid and watched the swish from side to side, no touching of the blades and left with a lovely clean windscreen to look out of. Due to the extra length of the drivers wiper it now clears even more from the windscreen which can only be a good thing.

I know I have gone a little overboard with this but they appear to be an excelent upgrade path and IMO look much smarter than the Old style blades and should also offer better cleaning abilty.

Now togo and try the ones I bought for the Fabia

They were a little step at £25 inc delivery from wiperblades.co.uk, they do actually show up as the correct blades for the Rav4.2 but now we know they fit and the part number people can look around for better deals. SWMBO went out in the car after I had fitted them and noticed a difference when she used the wipers but still had to ask if I had done something to her car to make sure
