Sat Nav , Finding Streets Info

I was stuck in traffic yesterday and the radio gave out a road was closed near to me. With this I put in the sat nav the town' rainham,gillingham' and then started to put in the road name. it didnt find it. Then after a further 5 minutes I actually drove past the closed road and there showing on the map screen it was displayed clearly with its name. Due to this, as I was doing about 2 miles an hour I started putting in other road names I was driving past and the sat nav didnt list most of them but there bold on the map you could see them. Who should I take this up with Toyota or the map manufactuers?
