Headlights And Heat Shields!

Well, have just helped my father replace the headlight dipped beam bulbs in his 01 vvti. What a pain in the ***** that was! I ended up loosening the drivers side headlight so I could lift it enough to see the retaining clip for the bulb - anyone got any other suggestions if we have to do this another time?!

Also, the heat shield on his exhaust was vibrating so he took it to quackfit. They binned it as the mountings had basically disintegrated. He's now a bit worried that it was there for a purpose - any thoughts on whether it would be worth replacing that section of exhaust just so it has a heat shield again? Seems excessive to me...?

Cheers!

When changing the buld, im working in a warm enviroment mmmm,oh, and i use a mirror to work, no headlight removal work required.

We repair the lip for the heat shield and reattach, it protects the plastic fuel tank from the HEAT of the exhaust system.

That's a scary one about the heat shield and the fact the tank is plastic.......... sounds like he really needs a new section of exhaust then? I guess the heat shields aren't available separately?
