Code Reading Jap Roadster

Hi there

I see on here quite a few people seem to recommend the memoscan scanners (U381, U581, etc) for scanning their Roadsters and other modern Toyotas.

Well, I have a U585 which is exactly the same OBDII/CAN scanner just with VAG functions as well, the only problem is that it wont seem to communicate with my girlfriend's MR-S.

Do you think it could be because it is an early model (1999) or because it is Japanese?

Hi Scott.

Unfortunately the obdII reader will only work with UK spec and you will find it difficult to even get a J spec read at most places :(

Yeah it's a Japanese spec MR-S.

Well at least I know what i'm up against now, thanks for the help guys.
