Still Running With Out The Key?!?

car started to rev really high so turned ignition off and took key out yet the car stil was runing for a good minute or two.

manage to get home and is not doing it any more.

Any Ideas?

09 plate aygo platinum 1.0 vvti 3 door petrol.

Sounds like an electrical issue of some kind, god knows what though! Get straight to Toyota and get them to check it out.

Well in a diesel this can be catastrophic as a turbo seal or something has gone and the car simply consumes the engine oil and runs itself to death...in a petrol, I would say electrical issue too.

This sounds like it could be a problem with pre-ignition possibly caused by a faulty fuel injector. I would hot-foot it down to Mr. T.
