My water pump was leaking back in the summer. It was noticed whilst in for a service. Mr T re booked me in for the next week and changed it under warranty. (07 Black.)

My mums aygo had a leaking pump when they serviced it (3rd year). it was booked in a few days later to have the pump replaced.

It shouldnt take too long usually.

The day before I came in for a new exhaust (guarantee-job), my water pump started whistling. They changed it on the spot; was in stock. Note: car from Oct 07, 7500 miles. Way too early for water pump and exhaust problems IMHO!

Just logged in to see if any1 else had the same problem. My car is 2006 and out of warranty. In last year of warranty noticed noise reported it and was just told that is how they drive... then around xmas 2009 heard really loud noise from engine took it back and they said they could not hear noise and to bring back when noise is there. A month later whistling noise and loud noise that lasted around 5 seconds came back took it to toyota and they said it was the Water pump and bearings around had gone.

Was so annoyed as was told if i wanted to get it fixed anywhere else it would need to be towed as not driveable. Paid the money to get it fixed £250 in total, argued the fact about previous noise but no still got to pay. Got the aygo back and no noise drives like new again and is as quiet as anything.

Think I will take this up with head office to get my money back. Was told I would receive a call to find out if I was satisfied now call received.

I love my aygo otherwise but the leaks etc are getting annoying now :-(

Just yesterday I checked my water pump and found it is on the way out. The coolant level is right down and the pump pulley is suspiciously covered in pink goo.

It's out of warranty too, so going in next week, cost £210 :(

No funny noises or anything, so lucky I looked really. Blokey at the dealer said they had replaced loads.

Paul.

I'm told the water pumps can weep for a long time before they give up, the problem being no temperature gauge to let you know the engine is getting hot, my pump has the pink stains on the pulley and I've only topped up the coolant once in 500 miles and then it only took a very small amount.

I've bought a genuine modified waterpump from Toyota and i had it delivered within 2 days ,so clearly no supply problems.

Make sure you only buy the Toyota modified one and don't by pattern parts as i guess they will be based around the original faulty pump design.

If your car is out of warrenty PARTS KING is your man for a good price on a pump :)

IIRC the part price on our warranty claim was only about £50.

ScanGauge II will also display the engine temperature. Great addition to Aygo by the way, can track mpg and other data including error codes.
