Double Din Dvd Player

Does anybody know if i buy one of these double din units off the net wether it will fit ok in my celica vvti. And do i need to make sure any item i choose comes with mounting brackets or can i use the existing ones?

Hi,

You would need a mounting surround thing (contains two thin plastic strips that would go on each side of the 3rd party unit to "fill the gap" that a factory unit will leave as factory is slightly bigger than 3rd party units. The kits can be brought on eBay for $20 bucks or less usually. Or your audio fitter may supply if its being professionally installed.

Depending on the stereo you buy, when you use the existing brackets it may sit either too far in, or too far out from the dash. If that's the case you'll just need to drill a couple of extra holes into the brackets so the stereo will sit flush.
