Right, after getting the car lowered, I delayed in getting the tracking sorted  So I ended up scrubbing the inside of the tyres. It's now got to the stage where I need em replacing (just fronts) was gonna go for Toyo's but a colleague at work has tried em and doesn't rate them in the wet. He had em on Golf GTi turbo, then an S3, now he has a Audi 225 TT with Bridgestones on and reckons they're excellent.

I can get Pirelli/Dunlop/Bridgestone or any decent make for about £35 each through work, just want some opinions

I heard Toyo's are really grippy but as such they eat tread. <_<

Goodyear's used to be good as did Bridgestones, Pirelli aren't great in my experience.

Anything's better than the rubbish Nankang rubber mines wearing at the moment!! :crybaby:

Eagle F1's are top banana

Nankangs! :D I'm glad i'm not the only one! I was too embarrased to post it up! Shocking tyres, feels like you're skating round bends as opposed to moving normally round them.

Just cane it round all the bends to wear them out like I am! :D Then I'll get something like Toyos I guess.

Apparently Toyo's take a while to warm up and I'm told they're atrocious in the wet, always found Pirelli to be good, last two sets I put on my bike before selling it were Pirelli and they were grippy as f :censor: k. Then again at over £210 for two tyres they should be I suppose ;)

for wets, UniRoyal Rainsports... Phenominal wet tyres, too soft a compund though to run properly thru the summer.

Pirreli Neros... AWESOME... nuff sed!

Pirreil Asimetrico... AWESOME (Kept me outta trouble a few time in my scoob)

Goodyear F1s... no experience, but have very high reviews

Dunlop P9000 (i think) Supposed to be really good too.

Toyo Proxes... MENTAL! for gripping in dry, not too confidence inspiring in the wet though. very soft compound compared to most of above, so will wear quick.

yeh but what else have yout tried?

tbh get whatever you can afford - most are very good anyway. I know i'll be buying Toyo's maybe Yoko's because of their great value for money. £240 odd for 4 17's incl. delivery from the place below: But if i had

sorry froston, i have to disagree with you there when you say most are good anyways...

agreed, it all depends on your budget, but with that budget are very different characteristics of tyres.

for exmaple, the Toyo's and Rainsports from Uniroyal both are within same price range and have similar compound wear. but while the uniroyal are phenominal in the wet - they disperse huge amounts of water - the toyos are best suited to dry conditions and are amonsgt the best for grip when in dry.

given we are heading towards the summer, i would say look at Toyos or Pirelli Neros or even F1s. but if autum/winter was coming, then Uniroyals are the boots to get IMO...
