A Slightly Werd One!

Hi,

Basically I think I must have hit a pot hole or something (as it was all working fine about a 10 hours ago) anyway the weather here is freezing and when i got back to my car after parking it the rear parking sensors were constantly on - I put this down to the freezing cold and something must be stuck on one but I've wiped them down and all are still on - anyway wen I have the radio on and turn the heated rear windows on it interfers with the signal - I guess there's a loose connection somewhere but does anyone have any idea where to start looking?

Cheers,

M.

Check the cables that run to them in the bumper, they can get brittle with age and start to cause problems, particularly if they've ever been stressed by having the bumper removed for any reason.

Hi,

I'm sure I've seen some wires in there. I've never really examined them. No tow bar fitted so no switch (I was hoping for a switch as the systems to quiet as is!). Car is 2004 Model by the way.

Does anyone have any ideas why the heated rear window would be causing radio interferance - do you think it could be something connected to this?

Thanks!

M.

I don't think I've been 100% clear. The sound is only on when in reverse so it's not about killing the sound and more about fixing it so the damn thing works as it should! I'll try and check the wiring later! Cheers for the help guys!

i have 04 avensis also and the rear window heater interferes with the radio since i bought it over 2 years ago. as there is no externel aerial i assumed it was built into the rear window. i may be wrong, and this is what interferance comes from

Your aerial if you look closely is in the drivers rear boot quater glass window, ive seen plenty there, dont recall any in the rear tail gate window yet, although i could be wrong.

Radio aerial on my 2007 hatchback is down the centre of the rear window.

Fitter.
