Could anyone tell me what the yellow wire is at the back of the original aygo stereo? :)

As you can see, my new head unit harness doesn’t have room for this yellow

connection.

My car has the Toyota bluetooth installed, could this be the wire that cuts the music when I receive calls? If so how do I integrate this to my new head unit?

You need to swap the yellow and red wires in the harness for the new

Kenwood radio, that's what the little bullet-connectors are for in those wires.

So instead of Yellow-Yellow and Red-Red, you get Yellow-Red and Red-Yellow.

The separate yellow wire is the mute-wire form your bluetooth, snip off the

yellow mini-ISO and attach an appropriate connector on the yellow wire and

the brown wire of the Kenwood-unit. The wire on the brown wire should be

female (a hole) and the yellow a male (a prong) to make sure you don't get

any funky behaviour if the wire is disconnected.

Now when you get al call "CALL" appears on the Kenwood's display and it pauses

any CD (either internal or on the changer) or a playing MP3 and resumes after the call.

Only bother I have with my Kenwood is that it doesn't remeber if I had my iPod

on shuffle/random or not, so it allways resumes regular playback...

Anyway, this should sort you out. If you look in the back of the manual for the Kenwood

ther's also a chapter on troubleshooting that covers forgetting presets and resetting the clock.

Yep, that's it. And if you use conectors, put the female connector on the brown wire.

Should you decide to remove the carkit and you have a male (bare metal) on brown

it will shot of the radio each time the wire shorts to ground (how would I know that? )

Well, sorted then!

I only just noticed Birddy's remark about bluetooth not working without that wire:

ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE! Even without that wire connected everything will work,

but the CD-player will not pause (which it'll never do on a OEM radio anyway)...

hello,

i dont have a harness that connect to the new radio i have bought. do i still swap the red and yellow wires from the car?

i have directly plugged the brown and grey into the radio and it works but it always resets itself, i assume i have to somehow put the yellow one in as well, but it has no space on the back of the radio.

any help is appreciated.

thanks
