Gen Iii Radio Presets

I am having problems with my T-Spirit radio. If the audio screen is showing then the tune knob or the steering wheel up/down control will happily cycle through the 6 presets. If the navigation screen is showing then both Tune knob and the up/down steering whel control do full seek on complete station list. I have read the manual which says that a long press on the up/down is needed for seek, a short press cycling the presets. The audio screen says presets and not station list.

What am I doing wrong? What default setting am I missing? :angry:
