I have a yaris t-sport and i need to disable the passenger air back to fit a baby car seat.

Any ideas, my dealer just said it cant be done.

Most other makes have a key in the glove box.

I know itsnot the precise answer, Toyota may not be able to disable the airbag, but it must be possible to remove it.

I know its not the ideal soultion but may be worth considering, if Toyota won't do it I'm sure you can find a garage that will.

Indeed, It is recommended not to place children in the front pasenger seat, as the air-bag cannot be de-activated. Some systems use a key to turn it off...others work on a presure sensor/and or seatbelt sensor to determine if the seat is in use.

I'm sure the airbag can be removed- de-activated permanently...but should you be in an accident with a adult passenger... if they were killed say..there could be grounds for manslaughter, as you de-activated the airbag.

In short use the rear seats..

sorry but the air bag cant be disconected as the airbag system will recall a fault in the wiring and display the warning light.
