Noise When Turning

Morning guys, been a while since i last posted.

Driving into work this morning i heard a strange sound when turning but had the stereo up full belt so couldnt get a decent listen. As i pulled into the carpark i dropped the volume and when i turned hard left i got a vr vr vr vr kind of sound coming from (i can only approximate) the front left.

Recently had my back discs and pads replaced and a while back my front left caliper was binding but theres no excess heat coming from the wheel and it passed an MOT no bother only last week.

My mechanic told me a while back it needed the front left CV boot replacing due to a split, but when we got it in last week he said he couldnt see a split anywhere so we didnt replace it. He said there was "grease flying everywhere" but no need to change as there was no split. Took the car for a 300km round trip to york on sat and was out with the missus yesterday and no sounds coming up at all.

Going to see my mate on saturday to get on the ramp but wondering if anyone has any ideas we can look at?

Thanks

check the CV joint but when a CV is worn it usualy knocks. the sound you describe is simelar to power steering pump, either low on fluid or fubar'd.

test if it makes the noise when stationary, if so its down to the power steering

how bad a problem do you think it is? and how potentially costly are those things you mentioned?

im going to head out at dinner and have a listen, think its only when im moving though. and it was only when i turned left, not right
