Dodgy Turbo

Hello people, this is my first entry so will be interested to see what happens. I am the proud owner of a 1994 jap import st205, total pride and joy, but it seems to have decided to have a mid life crisis, all of a sudden I lost all boost and it is whistling like mad when I try and accelerate, which I am assuming is the turbo spooling but not got any power. Could this be the waste gate or the actuator, have checked all the obvious hoses and such but to no avail. Any one got any words of wisdom for me, cheers

has the car got an aftermarket boost guage? or is the stock one reading any boost?

possible that its the wastegate although if its whistling as you said then that points to a split boost hose to me. have a good look round the chargecooler etc and be sure.

its not uncomon for the ct20 to shed turbine bleades due to there ceramic nature.

best way to check for this is remove the lamda sensor and use a torch to take a look at the blades.

are there any fault codes as well (a quick search will detail how to check)
