When Is An Iveco A Fiat?

Bought an Iveco generator last month. Happily the diesel generator is working well now after a diesel engineer told me two truths

1. The Iveco 6 cylinder engine is in fact a Fiat engine - shown by the words Fiat printed on the block!

2. I should not have been swayed by the fact that 2 Iveco oilfilters had been fitted to the engine.

One learns something everyday doesn't one?

And the fix required was an electric fuel pump to be put in the large tank fuel line to draw the diesel up the 2 metres height. (turning the tank upside down wasn't an option as the breather pipe seems to have been placed on the top

If any of you suffer a power cut, I'm happy to top up a capacitor for you if you send me one...free of charge!

Merry Christmas to all and may your lights never go out!!

IVECO has been the commercial vehicle arm of FIAT for some time.

FIAT IVECO trucks are very common on the roads of Great Britain

Hope that you have the "Capacity" to cope with the influx of requests from those of us in the South that have suffered power cuts this last week!! :P

smashing - that clears that confusion! Thanks....

as for capacity - ye - its a 50kva unit to fire up the electric fences! Some nutter sawed through a 11KV cable in the factory next door - and got blown thru a window 40' away. Survived but rather over-cooked so I hear.
