D4d Performance Chip

A couple of years ago I looked into getting a chip for my 2004 D4D Rav. Options I looked at were the Van Aaken/Toyota TRD smartbox.

I have recently started to seriously consider an upgrade but Van Aaken seem to be in liquidation.

Can anyone advise if you can still get hold of one of these Smartbox's or is my only option a main dealer for the TRD version - and how much do they cost?

Hi rav4 rocks+ welcome, I have had one fittted to my 07 rav for 2 yrs, it was bought + fitted by Lindop Toyota (although i am told they are easy to fit yourself) here is the link to their site + info about the "chip".. http://www.lindoptoyota.co.uk/component/co...article/67.html I highly reccomend them and will be glad to answer your questions, However if you PM Kingo ( parts King) he works for Lindop + will be able to advise better + get you a discount.. Can furrily endorse LH posting re Lindop official chip kit, having bought mine second hand from Mereside, who now drives a wee n'Audi Car!

You won't find Kingo's Kit to be the cheapest, but trade that off against some horror stories re. "limp mode" when cheap kits are used.

Bite the bullet and save yer pennies.....Kingo needs new trainers for running around mountains!
