Rav4.2 Vvti 1.8lt Petrol - Revs At Start Up

Good morning to everyone!

Wife owns a 4.2 (2003) with a 1.8lt vvti petrol engine. Can anyone give me an idea at what revs it usually starts from cold? I'm getting around 1800-2000 rpm on the rev counter and being mostly used to diesel engines I was wondering whether this is too high. Once the engine warms up it's then down to around 600-800rpm.

Thanks beforehand for your help and ... all the best!

I deem yr A/C is switched off when started.

Thanks to both of you for putting my mind at rest.

Once more - best wishes to all Ravvers!
