New Car Rattles!

Hi all,

I took delivery of a new Auris about three weeks ago and I have noticed that quite a few panels / areas have rattling coming from them. These sounds were not present for about the first 100 miles but they are getting worse and more of them keep cropping up.

I drive my cars very conservatively and as I result I would not expect these kind of defects so early in her life.

Do I have a leg to stand on with my dealer to ask that they put these issues right as it is ruining my driving experience and has made me feel like I am driving a car with 30k miles on the clock.

Cheers as always

Graham

I think you will be struggling to reject the car for a few rattles that you have not even given the dealer a chance to correct, our T180 as now done 30k and is rattle free and tbh the only gripe is the wipers and lower than expected mpg ;)

You have every right to expect that a new car will not rattle. It is up to the dealer to fix the problem. You will not look like a plonker, many new car owners have had similar problems, and taken them back to be sorted. Just be firm and persistent.

Hi,

my SR180 has 16.7k miles on the clock, I mentioned door panel rattles to my local Mr T, They told me to bring it in, I took it in there and then, 3 hours later AND NO CHARGE made, it was covered under warranty, with no fuss whatsoever from MR T.

Suggest you take yours in and have a chat with them.

These guys get some stick, but not all are bad.

Good luck.

Best wishes

Paul

PS Forgot to add, they drove me home, then came back for me to collect my car from the garage!!
