Hi

My rear windscreen has a sticker on it accross the lower edge - toyota london - or whatever from the dealer.

Can this be removed and if so how. The rear is heated, so dont want to mess anything up.

Any advice appreciated ------------- argh - regarding this..

Nick

I usually heat the sticky lables up with a hair-dryer to ease removal but ideally a warm day or garage if preferable:)

Yes, as James said, just wait for a warm day and use a hairdrier, not too much heat, just enough for it to peel off, did mine no probs. mike

...i recently removed mine from my aygo (i always remove them, hate advertisements on MY car)

when i was driving home one night, i turned the rear heated screen on to heat the glass up, then when i got home, whipped out the hair drier, heated it up, peeled it off, then used luke warm soapy water to get the remaining glue off.

Always wipe in the direction of the heating elements - and NOT across them.

When I collected mine new I refused to accept it as the stickers had been added despite me telling them not to. I will only carry such an advert if they tax my car for me each year and so far no offers! The sticker comes out!!!

I too had an annoying sticker on the back of mine, and started making a big deal about it when I was collecting the car, thinking I could damage the heater element/tinting film in removing it. So I complained to the dealer and the guy just grabbed a corner and it came off in a oner. Felt a wee bit sheepish there. I think the adhesive kind of “crystallised” and it just came off very easily. The guy said that the sun does something to the adhesive and they come off easily (sometimes). Well at least the “purpose made” ones do.

So, I suppose, the advice is, give it a wee try on one of the corners first [_carefully_!]... it may just come off easily.

Ha ha!!

Just the same - the indignant salesman yanked it out no problem. I perhaps wouldn't risk that if it had been on some time.
