In The Netherlands road tax is being lowered to ZERO for the Aygo/107/C1 and other small cars that do less than 109gr CO2/km!

Well its only a matter of time before RFL increases for cars like ours. The revenue the Govt. are loosing with people switching will be immense and I appreciate they have loaded the rates for 'Gas Guzzlers' - I doubt this compensates for the loss of revenue they have. Only a matter of time before cars like the Aygo end up paying £50+ per annum for RFL...and we'll back to square one.

Personally, can't wait to see the faces of many owners who go buy RFL for their cars and find out are now £400+ :)

Sorry, but thats old news. The Goverment released these figures on 25 Nov 2008.

No it won’t...

The government want cleaner and more economical cars.

If they want to raise more revenue, they just put another penny on the price for a litre of fuel.

Also VAT goes up 2.5% back to 17.5% on Friday which will bring in millions of pounds over night, more than an annual tax disc.
