Washed, Leathered And Waxed

Well i gave the car a good wash today, then drove it into the garage and used a chamois leather to dry and and then waxed it with Meguiar’s NXT Generation Spray Wax ....what a result...superb wet look shine. Also just had a phonecall my new genuine Toyota 14" wheel trims will be here in the morning after waiting for 15 days, the others were returned as the stupid courier driver could not find my house....1st problem i have had in 5 years of living here......IDIOT !!!!!

If anyone dares to tune into the Freeview shopping channel 'Ideal Home', look out for a product called 'Showroom Shine'. It's essentially a water-less car cleaning kit - spray it on, it gets anything from dust to thick dirt off, even paint. Then you just polish. It's really easy to do, environmentally friendly and doesn't risk the notorious Aygo water leaks!! After being a bit sceptical, I'm a convert. You can use it on the wheels too, and the kit comes with microfibre cloths (really soft, washable) as well as a few other goodies. When they do demonstrations on the show, they show it cutting through all kinds - sprayed-on paint, thick mud, tar, all sorts. You can only get it from Ideal World, or so I believe, and it isn't the cheapest around, but it's worth it and lasts for ages, giving Motorshow stand results - really shiny! Apparently quite a few car manufacturers use it such as Merc and VW. Fantastic product. Anyone interested may be able to find it on their website, otherwise just wait for it to pop up on Ideal World! It's made by a company called Greased Lightning. Highly recommended product. It's quicker than hosing, polishing, detailing etc too.

And yes, get some pictures up of your newly cleaned Aygo welshviking!

... and I don't sit at home watching the shopping channels every day!! Seriously. :P

Very nice indeed. I'm going to try and 'showroom shine' mine in a few days if the weather permits. Mudflaps look good - I find the rear bumper is where most of the dirt flings up to from the rear wheels... :D

Very nicely scrubbed up car Colin, mines a right old dirty mess at the moment due to the current road conditions.

I did mine today with the Showroom Shine and it's just iced over :( I'll get some pictures up if I can at some point. Very impressed with the results on the Aygo though, black polishes up extremely well I always think.

Finally got round to cleaning my aygo today. First of all an underchassis wash courtesy of a ford about a mile from my place. Have always used it with all my cars.

A trip to the jet wash on the way home. No leaks Then home to dry with a chamois

and a wax using the product recommended by Colin. Really easy to use and buffed up to a great shine with hardly any effort.

Also did the windows inside and out and a quick hoover.

Looking good but unfortunately wont last long especially in this weather.

Cheers Graeme, Yes it is in very good condition, immaculate inside with a couple of very minor scratches outside, i'm very happy with it especailly as i paid a good price for it....Regards Colin
