LH has a growling noise that comes from the passenger seat but that is when he tells jokes to his dog Toby............ or maybe a tiger in your tank???

Any chance of recording it or something just to help narrow it down?

depends on the model - early ones could be centre prop shaft bearing; or rear shaft bearing nut loose... checked diff oil??

Towing the family pet in this weather can cause anger too. I know cos my father hates getting taken for a run in his wheelchair - the towing bar keeps jerking making him loose his seating!

WOW!!! Thanks Rambler, refering to me in the same sentence as Anchorman, feel like I've been mentioned in the New years honours list, unfortunately I only know of 4 growling things..(1) as anchs says my dog when its not amused... (2) Local Heroine when she's not amused..(which is most of the time)..(3) my twin exhaust at 4500rpm.. (4) My tummy after a curry... :D :D But thanks for the compliment  Stew

various causes - I'd found a small contact between the rear pipe of the exhaust and the bodywork underneath touching which resulted in a vibration similar to a growl. As mentioned, the centre bearing on the prop could maybe cause it. Did you use the correct oil in the diff?? (thought I'd ask but sure you did)

A growl could be bearing related or exhaust related cos theres not much else up back. Dya think its vibration?? As you say its speed related - check the rear wheel nuts (castellated I think) are torqued up to the right setting. And check to see if somethings like the exhaust is hitting off the chassis bits.

What mileage has it done as it might help me relate to bearing etc I've replaced on mine.
