Can't Open

Hi,

Neither of my keyfobs will open our '04 Avensis this evening. Had a problem yesterday where we couldn't lock the car, the dash light was telling me a door was open. I noticed a tiny dent in the inner driver door frame, where it would touch against the door sensor. Played around for a second with the door sensor and it worked perfectly for the rest of the evening.

Today, nothing happens when I try and unlock the car. I can see the alarm indicator happily beeping away inside, but nothing happens at all. No result either with the key in the lock.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

UPDATE

went down this morning, and this time car doors were open, and the ignition was totally dead. got the car jump started, Battery was totally flat.

i reckon the sensor in the door went wrong again during the night, and the door open light was running all night. when the car was running again just now, the door light was on, with all the doors closed.

charged the Battery, and stuck a bit of tissue on the sensor, so it pushes in properly when the door is shut.

so now, the car locks, sensor seems fine, but the alarm isn't beeping, and the alarm light by the gear stick is staying red, not flashing. is this another speedy Battery drainer??

unlikely the car dealer will be open before monday, want to know what i can do in the meanwhile...
