Who says he hasn't? I'm pretty sure he's put alot more than a £15 yearly subscription in to the club.

Clubs aren't kept going by the money put in to them by members, they're kept going by the members themselves.

If it was kept going by the money put in, it'd be compulsory to pay on signing up... somehow I don't see the club having too many members that way... ;)

Ok? Nah. It's a car forum, not a Porno site. Maybe you're getting the two confused.

Look.... you don't like the choices. other people obviously did as they made the votes. Get over it.

Well done again lads.

Mate, why are you having such a severe reaction to this? You have begun to comment upon his personal life with no good reason.

Drop it and stop saying things that are irrelevant and really quite childish. Norfolk doesn't have to pay, paying doesn't mean that you are a better member. I have supported this club and its people more with my advice and input, that is more support than is provided if someone just pays a subscription and then doesn't come back.

Norfolk has shown himself to be an over-all good bloke, who makes mistakes like the rest of us but still manages to put himself out there to help support TOC. In fact, as he acts as moderator, he supports TOC even more!

I feel sorry for him because within his first bloody hour of duty, someones has questioned him and is complaining!

Norfolk or Gaz ain't paid for subsciption because he is Yorkshire, end of

But he has shown commitment in many other ways to the forum, which is why him (and Dawsey) got my vote :)

Well done chaps..and good luck to ya :)

Good poll, I enjoyed it :D

I feel sorry for him because he will not receive his "Moderators Bonus" this month as someone has complained about him...........................He will be forced to manage with the "basic" moderators fee! :(

The Moderating Team may just have to have a "Whip Round" for him..............................But that's another story ;)

Firstly, to Norfolk and Dawsey.... well done guys for becoming mods, this is where the job starts. Having previously undertaken the task myself I know it not all plain sailing

Secondly, whether being a 'supporter' or a 'regular' member on here is, in my opinion, irrelevant. Different people show their support in different ways. I guess in a totally ideal situation we would all be paying members but this is not what TOC is about. TOC is about the people and the cars that bring those people together. Gaz has shown his commitment to the club by giving his time and physical support.

Lastly, Simon get over it mate. You really are like a dog with a bone on this issue, be careful as all bones go rotten so leave it. Surely you cannot have missed the point that should Gaz not have been eligible to become a mod then the 'management' of TOC would have picked up on that and precluded him from the election process! You must always remember that you have the final say on this matter in that you can show your real feeling by leaving the club and taking your patronage elsewhere. OK, if you wish to flame me on this opinion then go ahead but in the end I think you will have to accept that I am correct.

thanks guys.

why do some people see being a mod as having more power or control. we are here to keep the forums tidy and keep them from becoming personal battle grounds.

the people who make the best mods IMO are the ones who do not think themselves above anyone else.

there is no 'mates policy' in it

also you will note that this forum does not require payment before users can view content (unlike quite a few clubs). members make this club and everyone contributes in different ways.

now lets all play nice, there is no room for sour grapes or other fruits ;)

I don't wish to stir this up again, but it seems perfectly clear to me.

Any Member, even with only one Post was eligible for nomination by the members. There were no restrictions, other than it was suggested that the Nominees should be regular meet attendees & be capable of understanding the software required to Moderate.

All 98k [whatever] members were entitled to vote & nominate. They didn't :(

I was nominated & asked Les to withdraw my nomination. I was greatly honoured to have been nominated, but, living on the OTHER Island, I don't get to meets, & I am not computer proficient.

So, Congratulations to our 2 new Mods & may they have a pleasant ride [ metaphorically speaking, of course  ]

I could still call you a turnip though! And you have no jurisdiction over vegetable name-calling! It's even in the TOC rules.....somewhere, start flashing them at my face and you'll feel the warmth of knowing you have irritated me, something I'm sure other mods revel in! ;)

Well I have many views on this vote, but would rather just say congratulations to the two guys and keep quiet rather than ruin their moment!

Good luck.................I am sure the Corolla section will be a very tidy forum :P

Well done to the both of you.

and , so have i , i paid my membership, and you only just won the vote, why have you not paid the Toc membership??

Because it's NOT mandatory! Us that pay choose to of our own accord, not because we feel obliged to or that it proves our membership.
