Ive Sprung A Leak!

hi

my car has developed a leak in the well where the car jack is located. has anyone any idea what may be causing this. was gonna change the rubber seal around the boot but wanted a second opinion before i did. also has anyone any ideas of somewhere that sells cheap toyota parts.

Hi, check the other side as well, you will probably find it has a build up of water as well.

I had this problem before. The water was coming in through the near side rear shock absorber mount at the top. I found covering the nuts & area in Silicone worked & sealed the issue. If yours is the same, I would recommend using an Everbuild product called Stikall. It is more expensive than a cheap silicone at about £5 a tube, but it has no odour & is easy to apply. I used a the silicone straight on to a disposable glove & then smear it all over the possible points.
