New Member Problem

Hi, hope someone can give me some advice on my problem. I have an M reg Carina which has given me no problems since I bought it 16 months ago. Last week in the morning, I heard a faint beep coming from the car. I opened the door and the alarm went off. I clicked my key fob, but nothing happened. I then tried to start the car up, but due to I think the Battery being nearly flat, no joy. I then tried to start it with jump leads from my wife's car and although their was juice getting to the car, it still doesn't start. Not even a click. i have managed to turn off the toyota anti theft system - which my neghbours are delighted with!

I'd like to know if it's a new Battery or a problem with the immobilisor. Can someone help me and let me know what they think and if there is a easy fix for this? I need the car for Wednesday to take the kids to school so I would appreciate some quick advice! Cheers, John.
