Upgrading The Factory Fit Stereo

I recently purchased a 2001 Toyota avensis 1.8vvti SR hatchback/Liftback. My god is the factory fit radio a bore! I recently removed the whole front fascia, unbolted the cd player part, bolted on my own jvc unit, and found it wasn't a perfect fit! Okay it obviously sticks a lot more, but then theres a very noticeable gap at each end of my jvc unit and also just underneath it...and this is with my jvc fascia trim attatched on! Has anyone found a way round this??? Please do let me know. Thank you.

Hi,

There was a facia available for the cd section at the bottom of the console. When I went back to the web site, they had closed down & could not find it any where else.

I found a post on here advising how to remove the facia off the original cd & cut it out to retro fit your own JVC unit. The problem is, I can't find it now.

Apart from that solution there does not appear to be a facia available for a std stereo.
