One For You Ravophiles

I know some of here are very proud of your RAVs and not too keen on the abilities of other 4x4s so I offer you this, taken this morning.

Some of you may have noticed that I have become the proud owner of a 4.2 that is frustratingly tucked up in the garage waiting for the clutch to be sorted out so I was highly amused to have passed this Fraud Maverick slithered to a halt a bit lower down the same hill. What was I driving? My wife's Pug 206 Sport. No ground clearance, low profile tyres and very 2WD. Doesn't say much for that Fraud, does it?

Can't quite make it out in the photograph, but I expect the Maverick driver had a paper bag over his head...

I watched the face of a Beemer X5 driver stuck in a car park as I lightly did a 3 point turn in front of him with my racing RAV...fitted with Fawlcen tyres for racing - not even winter tyres!!! No wheelspin and easily drove around him where he was stuck in the middle... I would have offered to help but it was slippy out there!

Actually it was a lady driver. How's that for stereotyping? No she wasn't on the school run tho

Is It being towed or just following the tractor? we can't see the tow rope! I had the Nissan version of this vehicle and the are usually very good in mud and snow,

one problem they can suffer from is the automatic front free wheeling hubs, they are supposed to lock in when when four wheel drive is engaged.

If the hubs are not maintained properly they don't lock in just leaving you with rear wheel drive.

The Nissan version also had a limited slip diff the ford probably as to.

Oh, it had been well and truly stuck! The tractor backed down, attached a rope and off it went.
