Seen this item coming up next Thursday (14/01/10)at Lidl thermometer

With the Arctic weather that is around at the moment thought it might be a useful item to have. I am sure that there would be a way to route the cable for the outside sensor so that it could not be seen.

No doubt some more technically minded forum members will be able to offer advice about that.

If you cant get the lidl specials page to show enter the following post code LL57 1NP

Routing the wire isn't that difficult, but placing the sensor in a proper location might

be tricky. You need to put the sensor in a place where it's dry, not subjected to wind,

but still "out in the open and definately not near the engine...

I have an Opel TID in my car with outside temperature and I placed the sensor

for that in the front bumper, in front of the left front wheel and radiator.

It's beneath the air horn, the bit of blue you see is the connector for the wiring.

Opel originally places the sensors behind the licence plate, in the lower air scoop.

Measurements are quite accurate; I usually only have half a degree

offset form the big thermometers you see on buildings...

Hi there, I have an 08 Aygo Blue, have just bought a cheap in/outside thermometer for the car, have no idea how to get the outside sensor out of the 'cabin' - where are there pre-existing holes? I don't want to just shove it past door seals as it might a) (and most importantly) wreck the seals and B) knacker the wire

Any tips appreciated!

Thanks

Vik
