Inputting Gps Coordinates

Does anybody have experience of succesfully inputting GPS coordinates into the T180 Rav4 Sat Nav?

I have looked in the user guide for the Sat Nav system but it does not give full instructions.

It seems to me that the coordinates given by caravan sites etc contain more digits than you can input into the system! Any help appreciated.

Are we talking latitude and longitude?

Unless there an option in a menu somewhere to change it (which I can't be bothered to look for), the Toyota system expects the input in degrees/minutes/seconds. eg 53°23'34"N 2°4'45"W.

Are the sites expressing it in decimal degrees? It's fairly simple to convert it, but if you find numbers a struggle:

http://www.fcc.gov/mb/audio/bickel/DDDMMSS-decimal.html

e.g. 53.392778N 2.079167W (to probably an unnecessary level of precision) is 53°23'34"N 2°4'45"W.

If that's not what you are after, please post an example of the co-ordinates you are trying to use.

I don't have trouble with numbers, only birthdays and anniversaries.....

Anyway this is a GPS coordinate - N49 55' 36" - E6 13' 12" This is a caravan site in Viaden Luxumborg.

I know its degrees and minutes, seconds etc, but the Toyota Sat Nav on my 07 T180 does not allow all the coordinates!

North is Ok and so is the first 2 digits, it is the same as the East coordinates.

If you only put in what the Sat Nav will take you are no where near!

Any help would be good or i will have to search the map on the darn thing!

Works for me and this is an 07 vehicle, using the original map disk:

Needed to select the degree symbol (with its button now greyed-out) for the "6" in the longitude (probably because it's only one figure), but the others it worked out for itself.

Any help?
