My Rav is going in for a 30.000 mile service tomorrow with Mr T what are they suppose to do at this service?(or where can i fined a list) I have bean quoted £180 what do you think ?????Gwil

Hi Gwil,

There should be some sort of list of things they do in your service manual in your handbook . They will also normally give you a ticked check list after the service .

My 20k service was £185 but when i first rang round different mr T garages the prices varied so much from £230 to £185 which i chose in the end . Hope this helps

I have a Rav4 4.1... so probably a differant service schedule. However, in my Toyota service book that came with the vehicle each service schedule is detailed on the work caried out. Basically a 30k service is probably engine oil and filter, check all other levels, check brake pads and disks for wear and run-out, visual inspection for leaks and worn components and maybe a clean out of various air/fuel filters! Oh, and the main thing, write out the invoice for £180... :o Not much work IMO for £180, but as Toyota main dealers are probably charging £80 an hour and the oil and filter can be £40 or so; you can see how it soon racks up! I prefer to do my own service work when I can and then spend the money saved down the pub. B) :) If you can't do it yourself... I would shop around the indi's or mobile mech's for a better deal.

Don't forget that as a TOC member you will get a 20% or so discount from Kingo for genuine Toyota spares ;)

Hi, Had the 30,000 service today all went well had the health and safety schedule and visual safety report, excellent. They gave me a fresh Yaris to play with loved it what fun. They apologized for miss quoting me as the service was £108.50, not £180 that is for 40,000. Thank you Toyota Harlech. Gwil
