Clutch Bite

Hi All, I've managed to get the garage to replace a leaky slave cylinder but still not really happy with the the bite. It's right down the bottom. I hardly have to lift my foot before it bites, is this normal? Can it be adjusted? or is there something more sinister happening?

Probably air in it Chris. Try bleeding it a bit more or take it back.

I recently got it in my head that my clutch was biting low, took it to Mr T, techy pressed the pedal twice + said no its perfect, A low cutch is a good clutch, and that was that  Then Anchs said it was OK, so I'm happy now.. Stew

Must concur with Stew on this. When I bought McRavvity in September at 3000 miles, the clutch was nothing short of brutal. Geniunely one inch movement upwards and it was in full drive. I think this is why the wee wummin in Aberdeenshire got rid of it.

It has now settled to about 2 inches of lift, still a bit sharp, but got used to it.

Now cannae drive wifey's wee Fiesta for stalling it on its 4.786" of travel before drive takes up !!!!!

Big Kev

Its going to pull a caravan in the summer so I want to know it's right!

OK - no!

However, unfortunately when the clutch wears out it comes to the top of the pedal until eventually it slips so in reality it could be. Don't write it off until it starts to do so as that could be a long time.
