Water Leak In Boot

I noticed earlier to-day a small amount of water in spare wheel well & passenger side boot floor of my car, yet the drivers side is dry. Now in reference to other posts on the forum my car is the sedan version of the SR so no boot lid struts.

The bungs are all in place & the ventilation fittings on each side of boot above tool spaces are in place & flap is in correct place.

Has anyone any idea of where the water is coming from?

Thanks.

Hello

I also have the same problem, I have traced water coming into the wheel arches from the rear light cluster. I have removed the light cluster and sealed with silicone grease which I hope will stop the leak .

I will give you update how it goes ,it seems a design fault to me ,have Toyota commented ? :( :(

UPDATE!

I took the car to a former Toyota dealership nearby & we stripped the boot out & sprayed water over the area. Lo & behold we found where water was coming in!

It was coming in through the vents at SIDE of the boot, the ones hidden behind the carpets. The rubber flaps where fine it was the vents themselves. The rubber seal was not in contact with car so water came in. The cure we came up with was to press the top two (2) white clips down & pressed them towards the outside of car while gently pulling vent inwards to create a seal between car body & vent.

The vent if fitted as it's meant to be ie clips in & upright the vent just rattles around.

Hope this helps..
