hey guys,

Bought a TOMTOM GPS, wonna know where to best mount it in a ZRE Corolla... I was thinking about the middle section under the front window....but it wont fit due to the wire.

Maybe on the dash to the right of the steering wheel?

Any photos would be great!

I recommend to attach it to the speedometer's "glass" (it is actually made of plastic).

Best regards, Alex

Brodit Proclip - Above centre vents - Excellent. See a thread from a year-or-so ago!

I solved the charge problem just in the last weekend :D

Wont that block the speedometer?

It blocks the display a bit. But just the left side of it (where the parking brake and other warning lights are). It is not disturbing me at all :)

i have an "one XL T" too (by the way, if smb can provide me a Canada&US maps i'll be quite grateful),

... I was thinking about the middle section under the front window...

i agree this possition

...but it wont fit due to the wire...

you can permanently fit a wire ended with mini USB plug, backside of the dash, and can remove tomtom only.

I got an adhesive circle with my TOMTOm, can I just stick that onto the plastic panel just to the right of my steering wheel?? Or is that a bad idea?

I'm pretty sure it won't hold... But you can always try!

as Andy said, you'd better buy a proclip than you stick something onto the dash, like this

or this

I fix my TomTom One with EasyPort mount onto a ROUND FRICTION DASHBOARD MOUNT CUSHION (from Amazon £12.99). I can then place the cushion almost anywhere on the dash and it stays put during acceleration, braking and turning. After use the whole lot folds up and can be hidden away in the glove box or door pocket.

I mounted the TOMTOM in the right hand corner of the driver's side with the stock clip provided onto that little side glass window.

Its only really noticeable to me and very easy to disconnect and hide.

I did the same click. There is no easier way to mount it in a good place.

Very nice install of the unit... Just a suggestion but maybe you should try running the wire through the air ventilation holes? Maybe through the upper one facing front, or the one blowing air to that small window which you attached your TOMTOM to. The wire would be less visible...

Thanks dude!

How can I fit that wire through the vents though? I still disconnect and hide the unit when I park...

You'll have to remove your speedo. It's not difficult, just pull out the visor surrounding, undo 4 screws and pull the speedo out. You can disconnect the connector if you feel like you need more space. Then just run the wire where you want it to go.

How is your wire going through the other parts of your car? Have you got it hidden inside the panels?

Best regards, Alex

I use a Nav Mat. It's like a heavy bean bag with a non-slip base. In the centre is a solid plastic disk and the sucker from your sat nav sticks to this. Plonk it anywhere you like, and when you get out of the car you just remove the sat nav and put the mat under the seat, leaving no marks behind and blocking none of your instruments. It doesn't slide around, even when going over rough / bumpy ground or on steep hills. Link here: click.

Another satisfied Nav Mat user, had it for Christmas and was pleasantly surprised at how effective it was. I used to use the small side window but my One had a habit of falling off when I was going along

Totally agree with Aldridge Andy. I've used it on 2 Auris's to date and have just removed to fit to my new one (which is coming on Saturday Yahay!)
