Thanks for the informed reply re my "Missing" problem-the water pump is run off the cambelt which is why it was replaced at the same time.I am going into the garage on Monday to put these points to them. With regard to the heater problem I dont think that is the problem as the heater slide in the car works ok but thank you very much for the thought Good Samaritan. Colin

The water pump is driven by the timing belt on the 3S-engines only. The 4A-FE and 7A-fe engine use a belt from the crankshaft pulley.

I guess you have a 3S-enginge, am I right?
