Stereo Replacement

Hi everyone,

I am thinking of replacing my standard fit stereo in my 07 Avensis and am wondering if anyone can answer a worry I have?

Will my on board computer/ temp and steering wheel audio controls still work if I replaced the stereo with a non standard unit or would there be problem?

Not all after-market radios are compatible with original equipment so you may need to fit an ISO adaptor. You could try emailing the company in the link below. I have used them in the past and they have been very helpful.:)

Just for all those out there who had or have the same concerns as I did have don`t worry.

If you retro fit a new unit instead of the standard factory fitted unit nothing else will be affected as long as you get all the adaptors.

I am now the proud owner of a Clarion Max983HD and it is fantastic was fitted by a superb company called Safe and Sound in Droylsden, Manchester!!

Did you replace the Speakers too, or just the head unit? If just the head unit, do you notice a big improvement in sound quality?

I'm considering replacing the head unit to get USB input and improve the sound, but if the Speakers are the limiting factor in the sound quality then it may not be worth the trouble.
